The last known official photograph of the magnificent crew of USS TRITON, SS-201, during rest and relaxation (R&R) leave, prior to the departure from Honolulu on the 5th War Patrol which would conclude in Brisbane, Australia. TRITON would commence its 6th War Patrol from Brisbane and a rendezvous with destiny on eternal patrol.

On April 22, 1943, each family of the USS TRITON crew would receive a telegram from the U.S. NAVY's Chief of Naval Personnel, delivered by WESTERN UNION, relaying the Country's message of their sacrifice.
Above Photo of TRITON's Fifth War Patrol Crew is gratis Mr. & Mrs. John Deane, the family of Adrian Fricke who was one of 18 men transferred from TRITON after her Fifth War Patrol. In the photo, he marked those of his buddies who were lost on the Sixth War Patrol.
